Trip away

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Hi everyone, well it’s that time of the year again. My trip to Kenya is tomorrow morning. I will be fairly busy this holiday and unsure if I will be checking my mail as often as usual, so if you would like to make a booking or have an enquiry for me can you address it to “info” and Emma will be only too glad to see what she can do for you.

I have a very early flight in the morning so will be off to bed soon for my beauty sleep.

Lala Salama to all for now.

Will catch up with you all soon.

Xmas Greetings

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Hello everyone, well as usual I’ve been very busy since my return from Kenya, what with xmas shopping etc. I think I’ve just wrapped the last present…….unless there is someone I’ve forgotten.

I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year from us all at Ekea Safaris and hope you all have fantastic safaris in 2010 as I have always had.

Just returned from latest trip

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Hi everyone, well we returned recently from our latest trip to Kenya and as usual we had a great time. The weather was a bit iffy the first two weeks but after that it just got hotter and hotter.

We had a fantastic safari, visiting Kisii, Tabaka where they mine and made beautiful carvings with soapstone, and enjoyed seeing the people picking tea at the plantations when we passed. We had a visit to Lake Nakuru seeing Rhino, pride of lions including two large males, leopard, buffalo, wart hogs, hyena, antelope, gazelle and lots of beautiful birds. We also had a trip looking for dolphins and did some snorkelling. It really was terrific. Here are some photo’s for you to enjoy.

One more sleep then Kenya here we come!

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Well folks just one more sleep before we hit the trail. Be good to have some sunshine for a change. I’m certainly in need of a few sun rays. I’m particularly looking forward to going to Lake Nakuru and hopefully see some Rhino and the beautiful pink Flamingos.

Let’s hope my photos are as good as the ones sent by Patrick.

Well kwaheri (bye) for now and will let you know how it all went when I get back.

Less than 1 week

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Well it’s now less than a week till my next trip out. Although it seems such a long time since my last visit, it’s actually only 3 months. The last few days are just flying by.

I have received more photos from Patrick in Belgium and I have passed them on to Steven so that he can put them on to our gallery. I hope to take some new ones when I am there this time so that will keep Steven busy when I return! So watch this space.

I hope you are all enjoying looking at the photos.

Take care

These are wonderfully clear shots taken by Patrick. I must think to ask him what camera he used. I’ll have to get one!

3 Weeks!!

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Well once again I’m counting down the days till the next trip……3 weeks today. Can’t wait, should be fun. Elaine, Mary and Trish are travelling with me. All I can say is “Look out Kenya, here we come!”

All joking aside we are all thrilled and really looking forward to the adventure. We are going to Kisii, then on to Tabaka where the soap stone is mined and carved and thought we would take in a trip to Lake Nakuru seeing we will be in the area. We will then travel to Voi, have an overnight there and then on to Diani Beach.

We received a few photos from Patrick from his safari which lasted 18 days. Quite a marathon, but he really enjoyed it and thankfully didn’t require the services of the “Flying Doctors”. I must remember to join for my next trip, you just never know…..

I’m looking forward to receiving the rest of the photos from Patrick. Will put some in our gallery and some on here. Thanks Patrick.

Well this is all for now.

Hell’s Kitchen

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

For those of you who may fancy a trip to Malindi I would recommend a visit to Hell’s Kitchen. It’s amazing to see first hand just what Mother Nature can do when she puts her mind to it. It does get very hot there – hence the name, so a morning trip would be best.   A guide will take you down into the ravine for a small fee.

Here’s some photos I took whilst visiting a few weeks ago.
